Basically, I received an order for a food product through my website but the details provided don’t seem (aren’t?) legit. First, the person’s name is the name of a building. Then the address is for a different building. The telephone number exists and is a landline for a specialty sex /hostess club place. The address provided is also for a sex club but Google map images of the building show it is not the club that matches the telephone number. The “person’s/building’s name”, address, and telephone number all point to the same part of Tokyo. The customer wants to pay by cash transfer before I send the product.
Is this the start of an overpayment scam or something like that? I mean, I can see sex clubs not using real names for addresses but why not use a more legit-sounding John Doe?
The whole thing seem too odd to be genuine but too shitty to be a legit scam. Like, what are they going for with this mess? It is tempting to plod on like a normal order, but if I share my bank transfer details am I opening myself up to problems later down the line? Thanks

The only thing a potential scammer will be able to do with your bank account is to transfer you money. They can’t withdraw yours, pretend they’re you and do something with account, etc. Lots of companies list their bank transfer info on the “about payment” or similar pages anyway, so this information is pretty much public either way.
If you’re paid for the stuff and you ship it to whatever location as specified, it’s no longer your problem.
If you suspect something is wrong, just ignore it.
Even if they can’t steal your money directly, they’ll collect more info on you and might use it for more elaborate social engineering schemes.

Have you tried talking to them? About some random thing to gauge if they’re real.

it is a kind of food that one might serve at a sex club ? If so could be legit? You could find out by going to the sex club and seeing what kind of food they serve.
