My wife and I’s first trip was an 8-day Tokyo-Osaka-Kyoto-Tokyo in 2017.
We love to travel to eat so we’re open to recommendations. I am a JDM car nut and my wife is into makeup/beauty products so recommendations would be appreciated. Would also love a chance to go to an underground meet if anyone has connects.
We unfortunately do not have phones able to use an eSIM, and we are currently on Tmobile ONE Plan. What are people’s experiences with Tmo’s free data? It was insanely slow in 2017.
I figured we could use our US iPad Mini Gen 6 and Ubigi to essentially create our own pocket wifi. Opinions?

You don’t have to activate the JR pass the day of back at the airport. You can pick it up when you arrive and select the next day as the start point. That should save you some hassle.
