Itinerary check 19 days: Osaka-Nara-Kyoto-Kinosaki-Mt Fuji-Yamanashi-Tokyo

What do you think of the pace of the trip?

It’s my first time in Japan, I’m into wine, gin, matcha, food, onsens, nature, culture and history.

I may or may not be at a gin bar each evening 😃

  2. For your night in Kinosaki, I would highly recommend staying at one of the ryokans there for the full experience. You’ll be given a pass to go to any onsen for the duration of your stay and many of the ryokans do kaiseki dinners (often with Taijima beef and local crab, which are famous in the area). The town itself is also quite charming just to walk around in.

  3. Hi!

I think your December 2nd travel day is going to be very hard. I would make sure to spend some time knowing what ties all the connections are you need to make to make it work. I am unsure if there are any limited expresses between Toyooka and Himeji, you might need to take a local or take a limited express to Sannomiya or Shin-Osaka and transfer. You then need to get from Himeji to Mishima to catch a bus, and I think they are reserved seat only . You could go all the way back to Tokyo, but then you need to get a train or bus from there to Kawaguchiko. I think it will just be a long day.

It’s too late now, but you could have just gotten a 7 day pass and been fine, I’m honestly not even sure that pays off, but I think it does?

    Good luck!
