In Japanese theaters playing western animated movies (Disney, Dreamworks, Pixar, etc.), there are some screens showing a dubbed version and some screens showing the subtitled version. Japanese dubbed versions are usually for children since they can’t read subtitles quickly.
For TV programs (Spongebob, The Simpsons, etc.), the dubbed versions are shown on TV while both versions are available on streaming services and other media.
