Any good anti-prespirant & deodorant in Japan?

Where can you buy good/decent deodorant in Japan? Its kinda difficult to find ones that work well and last at least a couple of hours especially in the summer times. I’m an active person always on the move/working out, so I sweat a lot and in need of something that actually works and lasts longer. I’ve almost ran out of my stash that I brought from overseas and I’m looking to restock soon.
Tried ordering my deodorant type from amazon.jp so far for ridiculous prices. It seems like most Japanese people use perfume/liquid/cream and even gel types to use as deodorant, but I haven’t seen any western types anywhere.
Some info would be appreciated!!

  1. I just order a lot of old spice from amazon.com, or bring back a lot when I go on trips.

  2. I order my deodorant from iHerb. Usually I get Axe dry antiperspirant for summer time and the regular type for the rest of the year. It runs about ¥600 a stick on there.

  3. The Deonature Soft Stone deodorant is super good, I put it on after I shower/bathe on an evening. Then in the morning I will spray with Age24 Powder spray (the gold bottle). This combo honestly works better than the deodorant I brought from the UK with me! It can be a bit more expensive though so depends on your budget.

  4. Please go to the nearby supermarket and buy ‘焼ミョウバンYakumyoban’ (potassium aluminum sulfate). The purple package has an illustration of an eggplant. If you’re unsure, please ask a store clerk.

You can get 30g for around 110 yen.

Simply dissolve it in boiling water at 100°C (be cautious of burns). Once it cools, transfer it to a spray bottle.

After showering the previous day, spray a solution of dissolved 焼ミョウバン on your armpits and your entire body. This will completely prevent any body odor from occurring.

  5. What’s wrong with 8×4 rollers? Been using them since I came and they’ve worked better than anything I’ve tried abroad. Especially the black scentless one is good.

  6. 15 years in Japan, I get mine when I’m back in the US or order from Amazon. Never had to buy it here.

  7. Soft Stone blows. Get Deo-ace EX on Amazon, the roll-on type. Worth the money. Had my first summer free of smelly stinky pits in 8 years.

  8. Deodorant but not an antiperspirant, I like stainkys pit prep, lume, or nuud. (Stainkys is my favorite) They use AHA to prevent smell and works quite well all over. International shipping can be a bit pricey, but i just buy in bulk. You could pair it with an antiperspirant if you like, I use iherb for things I can’t find in Japan easily. My husband likes everyman Jack.

  9. If you want stick deodorant, unfortunately it’ll have to be Amazon. Most Asian folks do not sweat much in their underarms, which is an unfair genetic advantage I wish I had 😝 Some people swear by the brand Denature, but it’s just as expensive, if not not more so than the western brands.

  10. Buy from Amazon.com or eBay.com. Sellers buy up stuff on sale or stuff from bankrupt/closed down shops and list it in both places. You can generally get multi-packs for a better deal. Buy enough for a year so shipping is cheaper per unit.

  11. There is a baby power that comes in a round tin on Amazon.Jp called “Wakodo Siccarol” . It’s lightly scented and great for keeping dry where you want.

Otherwise deodorants aren’t so great in Japan – you could also try an unscented roll as the scents can make things smell way worse.
