I’ve been in Japan for 8 years now but I’ve never had an issue with making noise in my apartment, mostly cause I’ve always lived in mansions with proper concrete.
However, I’ve moved into an apartment with thinner walls with my wife, and we do what married couples do, a few times a week. Recently though we’ve heard the neighbor bang the wall and do the typical Japanese thing of exaggerated annoyed sounds. That said, we don’t do it at absurd times, it’s usually before 11pm even, so it’s not like it should be breaking any rules or laws.
I guess I’m just curious about whether the neighbor would have any grounds to make a noise complaint, considering the time and…natural action of what it actually is? (Not like dropping things on the floor all night)

I got noise complaints for talking on the phone. After that I moved into concrete and haven’t looked back. Fucking was always a nightmare in thin walled places 😅 go back to concrete if ya can .
banging on the wall could be their way of cheering you guys on.. just saying lol
Your neighbors might be annoyed if they have children, just saying. If you’re really into making a lot of noise a love hotel does serve the purpose of letting you yell and scream as much as you want.
Just like at a hotel when you pay a lot and you’ve got neighbours screaming next door, pretty rough. I mean, nobody not doing it wants to hear others who are. If the walls are genuinely thin, it’s pretty gross (not your fault ofc, rut away).
Knock back on the wall and say : “GO AROUND!”.
Why did you move from the concrete walls? Thin walled apartments fucking suck here.
