I want to stay in a hotel first before checking out houses for long term stay,
To create a bank account, I will need to fill the residence card address when Im still staying in the hotel, is that possible?
If so, what proof should I show to the post office that Im staying in a hotel?
Thanks!

Technically it’s possible, that’s what I did when I first moved to Tokyo. The first address on my residence card is a hotel.
I went to the ward office (not post office) where the hotel was located along with receipt from my hotel. I don’t think the office even looked at the receipt. I’m not sure if it matters, but the hotel I stayed at did weekly and monthly rentals.
