Benesse BE studio interview

Has anyone had any experience with Benesse BE studio? What interview questions do they ask, and is there a demo for the first interview? What are your thoughts on the company?

Thank you!

  1. Small group interview where they run you through the basics of the job then individual demonstration where you will be given flash cards and a story book. You will use the flash cards to demonstrate your ability to talk about the items on the cards in a kid friendly way. In my interview, the interviewer roleplayed as a kid which in my opinion helped. The book reading is straightforward. The last item is teaching a kids song to kids (roleplayed again).

Overall, was really basic. Be enthusiastic, be positive and that’s about it. I didn’t get the job but somehow landed a much better role at another company. My 2¢.

  2. The first interview I had with them was online and the person who interviewed me just told me about the job and I had to introduce myself. The second interview was at the office and they just asked me basic questions about myself, told me about the job position again and I had a small demo lesson with a storybook. I got the job and worked there 2021 for a year. I quit because they didn’t offer me a full-time position (I was paid just daily so if there was a day without lessons/no work, I wasn’t paid so the salary was very low if the month had a lot of national holidays for example).

  3. I work for BeStudio, since the Minerva days, and have for about 18 years. The first year or two I worked four or five days a week but since then just on Saturdays to supliment my income, and their seasonal Special Lessons.

Generally they’re fine to work for. It can be hard to get time off, but I think that depends on the area you work at. Back in the Minerva days, I had a 37.5°c fever but was forced to go in.

They however, during the pandemic, paid a certain percentage of the hourly wage, something the my other part time jobs didn’t do. (For context, I work full time and also do three part time jobs as well as study online at university).

They give you comprehensive training and all teaching materials and manuals are provided. There is some wiggle room for originality, but not a lot.

The hourly wage is much higher than other places I have worked part time over the years.

Overall, they’re fine to work for but they can be very inflexible. Again, that depends on the area, but it’s something to keep in mind.
