Synthetic Christmas Trees?

I know it’s mega early yet, but Halloween is almost here which means Xmas products will likely be out of season before long. :L

We had a real one last year but it was pretty small and a pain to get rid of, not to mention the needles getting all over the floor and we got a baby crawling around now so not ideal.
Now Looking to get a fake one to last the next 10 years or more.

Saw [this](https://www.costco.co.jp/c/65ft-Un-Lit-Aspen-Tree/p/1487588) one at Costco last year but I’m pretty sure it was 2万 back then and 3万 seems a little steep, though the quality looked really good (very “full” looking with no gaps between the branches).

Seen a bunch for much less on Amazon but there’s no real way to know until it’s on my doorstep.

Anyone got a good tree they can recommend?

  1. We bought one on Amazon a few years ago for about 10,000 Yen. Its about 2 metres high and has held up pretty well. Unfortunately its been so long that I don’t remember the maker or other details, but the basic point is that you can get pretty good ones for far cheaper.

I think the main difference is as you note that Costco one is very “full” looking while ours is a bit more sparse in terms of branches, so its probably higher quality in that regard. But when you’ve got lights and decorations all over it I don’t know that it makes much difference.

  2. We got one for two or three thousand yen at Seiyu about 15 years ago. It looked bare at first, but each year we make new decorations for it at few days before Christmas (and keep the old ones), so it is looking so full now that we’re starting to have to discard some of the older decorations we made.

  3. Medium sized ones were at Toys R Us. There’s a fiberoptic one that I almost bought.

  4. Going on our 8th year with the prelit Costco tree. No complaints and it’s super easy to set up. The box it comes in is quite large (for the 200cm one) so you do need to think about the space to store it the rest of the year.
