I moved to japan about 3 weeks ago for university, and have an esim to provide me with data; however I don’t have a japanese phone number which I would like to have. Are there any providers where I can get a Japanese phone number with an esim can’t be a physical sim cause I don’t have any slots left.

Most Japanese providers have an esim option. If you already have a data sim, why not just get a digital number from Skype?
povo 2.0 is esim with voice. source: i have one
I assume you are trying to use dual-sim, but I would recommend you to buy another phone. One is for your country and another is for Japan.
Check [kakaku.com](https://kakaku.com) if you are fluent in Japanese.
I recommend Ahamo for 3 reasons in your case:
1. Easiest E-Sim application process (you receive your e-sim as a notification 1h after signing up in their app, no need even for a separate profile for the internet).
2. In my case they took a foreign debit card as payment with no issues.
3. No hidden fees. Linemo on paper might seem much cheaper, but it automatically adds to your bill a monthly “call” option (which is basically unavoidable unless you don’t call anyone or receive any calls in a given month) and then bills you for the call time itself (while Ahamo includes calls of 5mins or less in the plan).
Ahamo, it’s a subsidiary of Docomo.
