Finally decided to make my own sushi!


I didn’t take the best pic, I was just excited to eat!! I’m really happy with how it came out and can’t wait to keep practicing.

    My knife wasn’t sharp enough to cut the rolls well, definitely planning on getting a better knife.

    If I may, I’ll offer some advice for nigiri. What you’re aiming for is closest to the shrimp at the 6 o’clock position. The fish should mold to the rice ball just a bit, not just be a piece on top. It’s part ratio, part knife skill, and part technique molding the nigiri. It all adds up, and has almost nothing to do with fish quality or rice recipe, which are separate but fine AFAIK from this picture.
