Kitchen Origin vs Conbini bento

Which do you think is “healthier”?

  1. Kitchen bento. Conbini bento came from kitchen too but Conbini ones would have more risk of contamination due to its handling (lots of hands)

  2. You can also mix and match at Origin, trading potato salad for pumpkin, etc., so I prefer Origin.

Seiyu started Origin many years ago as a one-off but it became popular. I’m unsure if they still own it, but the cleanliness and experience are with them.

A konbini bento is generally safe as they date them and can’t be rung up after the minute of the expirations bar, as all 7-11 needs is a scandal.

Still, for example, an onigiri has massive amounts of vegetable oil. Why? They mix it with the rice so the onigiri shaper does not get clogged with rice. So konbini food in general is not too healthy.

  3. I would personally vote for combini as a healthier option but you are comparing 2 piles of shit and asking which one stinks less. None are healthy.

I am not saying they can’t be good (I do still consume both)

  4. I would vote conbini from my own experience with Origin. The first and only time I got food from Origin (the Ebisu/Higashi Ebisu one thats between Ebisu and Shibuya), after arriving home, I found a small roach running around in the plastic bag that they packed the food/bento box in. Havent been back to an Origin since then.
