Cheap high calorie food from combini

Kinda stupid question but what foods would be good for bulking that I can buy for cheap at combinis?

  1. Cheap and combini doesn’t really go together usually. I see a lot of praise on their Salad Chicken though

  2. Bulking usually implies lots of protein, and proteins aren’t cheap (especially my preferred beef or eggs).

But it all really comes down to your budget.

What’s cheap for me may not be cheap for you.

  3. don’t buy anything at the conbini if you’re looking for cheap. go to gyosu or costco if you can access that and buy in bulk. even a regular supermarket will be cheaper than conbini. you can buy a bunch of eggs, cook them, and chuck them in your lunch bag or something.

  4. Nuts. High caloric, healthy fat snack, perfect for bulking.

    Cooked pasta for carbs.

    Don’t forget your protein 😀

  5. If you wanna bulk dirty, I guess most conbini bentos, yakidorias, meat buns, those protein drinks and bars with terrible macros would work.
BUT, news flash, combini ain’t cheap. Go to supermarkets 1−2 hours before closing and hunt for % offs.

I’d rather not bulk if bulking dirty is my only option, but it’s your life…

  6. You’d get like 1000 calories from the Matsuya Large beef bowl sets 560 yen. But yea rice and meat/fish from Konbini’s would be a safe bet. Even better/cheaper if you get them from any local grocery store.

  7. If you want to get fat, fami-chiki between two maple pancakes.
If you want to bulk up (muscles, I assume) there are pretty good “my protein” drinks in the refrigerator section (my family mart has them) that are high protein and low calorie. Also the salad chicken sticks come in a few different flavors, and are probably exactly what you are after.

  8. Get 2kg sasami bags, cheese, bbq sauce and Pa wraps from Gyomu…can go on that for weeks on end

  9. As everyone says it’s not ideal because it’s not only expensive but a lot of it is full of chemicals. I get it though, it’s delicious.
It makes me laugh that at the konbini for 600 yen you can get those veggie sticks and an onigiri. 600 yen at the super market is a whole pack of fried chicken, salad and croquettes.

I get it though it’s convenient. Boiled eggs are at least 100 yen so maybe just the salad chicken and some eggs?

  10. Peanuts chocolate is the answer for any dirty bulk. Usually around 100 yen. 3-400 calories and around 10g of protein.

  11. Buy a toaster oven and chicken breast from the supermarket. Never buy conbini food unless it’s your only choice.

  12. My favourite for quick calories/yen when I’m skiing is Famima egg roll and chocolate chip sponge. 6-700 calories for 3-400 yen!
