Went to Shibuya Parco because Husband wanted to check the Nintendo store and the whole floor was utter chaos. Way too crowded. Go on a weekday if possible
It’s a public holiday, everything is closed, but of course I have my classes
Went to the Michi-no-eki in Kusu on Saturday. First time. Man was all the meat and produce so fresh and cheap! We bought a bunch of steaks and cooked them up the next day. Delicious! Vegetables and eggs, too, free range and organic. Beats going to the department store super or fancy supermarket nearby where I’d pay 3x the cost.
Only setback is the 2800 yen it costs to drive each way. But we were going to Hita, to visit my S.O.’s relatives, so it was already in the area.
Worked 2 night shifts
Made a little progress with a report.
Tried to figure out a weekend routine for fall semester
Called my parents
Spent way more time than I should writing comments on archiveofourown and then refreshing Gmail to see if the author wrote back yet (they did!!)
Helped my husband out with his programming/drone event and managed to some amazing shots that they’re now using! 🥹👍🏻 I’ve only been living here for under a year so far & I’m still learning the language so I get very shy sometimes but I was met with so much curiosity and kindness that day, I felt so welcomed 😭🤍 So many people tried to communicate beyond the language barrier with photos, links etc it was so sweet 🥹🤍
It was an exhausting day so what did we do the next day? Stayed home and gamed all day🤩- we then watched some horror movies at night with our close friends for spoopy month 🤭 It was a really fun weekend 🥹🤍
Gave an episode of the Netflix Gamera anime a watch when I was alone with my kids. A battle scene came on, my oldest put down his comic saying “What’s this?”, my little one grabbed a gun from the toy box and started shooting at the screen.
So I got some affirmation I’m raising kids alright, that’s something.
Had a weekend of goodbyes, my boss is leaving to do his own thing, my friend is leaving to go to Okinawa, as such I will unlikely ever climb Mt. Tsukuba again so we did it one last time. Sad to see them go but life goes on.
