Realistic expectation for Senior FullStack developer in Tokyo

Hello everyone, I am planning a move to Japan/Tokyo in the following years (I will explain why a bit later) and I am looking to gather some information about the job market there and what I can expect so I can plan for visas and other stuff (my goal being J-SKIP or highly skilled worker)

Currently I do have a bachelor degree + 7 year of experience as a FullStack engineer. I do specialize in Javascript technologies (React/Vue/Node/Typescript) and serverless (AWS/GCP). I also have experience in assisting in the hiring process, mentoring mid/junior and managing small teams.
I studied Japanese for a year, plus some self studies, but lost part of it so I’m now at a JPLT 5/4.
I also speak English and French fluently

My goal is to find a company to work in English at first, where I can improve my Japanese to later open more doors.

I mentioned that I currently only have a Bachelor, but I am in the process to get a Master degree, the procedure will take about a year. That’s why I’m not in a hurry since my goal in to increase the points for visa and maybe reach J-SKIP qualifications

I also contacted some local recruiters to get their point of view, but I like to have more opinion

My questions:
\- What technologies are popular in Japan?
\- What salary range can I realistically aim for with my experience

  2. Not saying impossible, but you’ll likely have difficulty in current economic condition.
