I know this question has been asked a million times, and every one keeps saying check the wiki. I’ve read all the posts, I’ve read the wiki and I have somewhat of a plan that I’m following. But has anyone actually done it? if you succeeded, know someone who had or are currently working towards becoming a doctor in Japan, please tell me about it.

Most foreign physicians in Japan are from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Korea.
There are more astronauts than practicing Western doctors in Japan {unless you count [US military physicians](https://www.hippocraticadventures.com/american-doctor-in-japan/)}.
There are are a few Western doctors who somehow squeak through the barriers such as this [youtuber](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBddmKxv0rk) but foreign doctors who aren’t from the Sinosphere are rare.

Should we tell the OP about the American practicing as a doctor in Japan, Doctor Hamburger?
There is a Dutch physician practicing in Fukuoka.
