Itinerary check – 13 days

Any suggestions for this itinerary, is there spare time for more or is it overpacked ? We are 2 adults with a 5 year old

We are staying in Shimokitazawa nights 1 & 4-6 (same
Place so we can leave our stuff) disney nights 2&3, gion nights 7-11, Roppongi nights 12-13

Day 1 ———-
– Arrive Haneda airport
– Drop off luggage at lodging in Shimokitazawa (debating a car service)
– Shibuya (including Shibuya Sky tix at either 4:20 or 7 depending on timing)

Day 2 ———-
– Harajuku
– Shimokitazawa
– travel to Tokyo Disney around 1pm, check into Miracosta at 3p

Day 3
– DisneySea

Day 4
– Disneyland
– Back to Shimokitazawa lodging

Day 5 ———-
– Shibuya & Shinjuku
– Evening: adult night with sitter (shinjuku, golden hair, cocktail bar)

Day 6 ———-
– Tsukiji Market
– Ueno Park
– Skytree?
– Akhihabara?

Day 7 ———-
– Early morning Shinkansen to Kyoto
– Store luggage at lodging by higashiyama station
– Fire ramen lunch?
– Nijo castle
– Sannenzaka & Ninnenzaka (if time?)
– Evening: Izakaya crawl (kid with sitter)

Day 8 ———-
– Otagi Nembutuji-Jo (early morning)
– Arashiyama boo-boo Forrest (brief stop)
– River boat ride hopefully
– MAYBE: Toei Studio Park?
– Nishiki Market

Day 9 ———-
– Morning: unknown with kid solo til 1p while husband goes to sword making class
– Photo session in evening

Day 10 ———-
– Shinkansen to Nara
– Nara park & mochi spot
– Shinkansen to Osaka
– Doronbori & Dinner?
– Shinkansen to Kyoto (or get Osaka hotel if too tired)

Day 11 ———-
– Fushimi Inari
– golden temple?
– Sannenzaka & Ninnenzaka (or fit in earlier day?)

Day 12 ———-
– Shinkansen to Tokyo
– Check into Roppongi lodging
– early evening afternoon tea at hotel
NIGHT: sitter so maybe Ginza or where?

Day 13————-
– Roppongi
– Teamlab at 1pm
– Odaiba
– Akasaka

Day 14——————
– flight home from Haneda

  1. With a 5-year-old, it would seem packed for us. When our child was five, Ueno Park *or* Sky Tree *or* Akihabara would have been plenty, and we live in Tokyo.

    For Day 2, don’t plan on seeing many of the more interesting shops or other places in Shimokitazawa: many places don’t open until noon or, sometimes, after. We live in bicycling distance of Shimokitazawa and hardly ever brought our 5-year-old there; now that our child is 10, we still don’t go there often.
