Is anyone here using GrapheneOS and are there any Japan-specific issues to be aware of? From what I have read, *almost* all apps should work.
I’m thinking of getting the Pixel 8 Pro, but first I would really appreciate if anyone can comment on recent experience with Graphene OS, and about compatibility with major Japanese apps (eg PayPay, Mobile Suica, LINE… I know payments in google wallet won’t work)
I saw [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/japanlife/comments/x85eim/anyone_using_a_degoogled_android_phone_with_line/), but that discussion is a bit old and only about LINE (which it seems like they did get working). Discussion on Graphene’s own forum has almost nothing from users in Japan.

6A but I don’t use any payment apps so can’t help with those. Everything else I use works fine.

Yes, works just fine. Never had any issues.
But I had to install google services for LINE notifications and a few other Japan specific apps to work, unfortunately.
Aside from that – everything is perfect.
Tap to pay probably wouldn’t work, but showing a barcode from the app should be fine.
