Does working in a field that is unrelated to my bachelor’s degree affect the application for a working visa?

Let’s briefing talk about my background first. I studied Biotechnology at university; however, I engaged in the Marketing and Event industry after graduation. Now, I have two years of experience in this industry.
I am planning to find some event industry-related jobs in Japan, for example, event coordinator, event planner, producer etc. But I read some articles and sharing that mention 10 years of working experience or related academic background is needed to apply for (技術・人文知識・国際業務) working visa. Therefore, I have a few questions:
1. Is 技術・人文知識・国際業務 visa applicable for jobs in the event industry, if not, what type of working visa I should apply for?
2. Is the academic background related to the current job necessary? Or once I have the bachelor’s degree, no matter what field it is, it is already okay?
3. If I can find a company which able to support me in applying for the working visa, I can still get the working visa even if I cannot meet the criteria (for the academic background/working experience)?

Thank you for reading this long content.

  2. No. As long as you at least have a degree – any degree – you will be eligible for a visa if you find an employer willing to sponsor you. The degree could be in any subject and doesn’t need to be related to the job in question. (It will need to be the equivalent of a 3-4 year bachelor’s though, so foundation courses and associate’s degrees are a no!)

Actually finding an employer willing to sponsor you while you have an unrelated degree is another matter, but not impossible. Ultimately, that comes down to you and your CV. Be prepared for stiff competition though.
