Finished the 中級から上級への日本語 textbook! As far as I know, there’s no more general textbooks beyond this. Just JLPT (N1) focused textbooks.
My plan now is to just go hard on immersion.
I’m currently about 80 pages through コンビニ人間 which will be my 7th book this year once I finish it. 10 books before N2 is my goal, then 100 before N1. Hype.
I was in Little Tokyo recently, and while conversations with clerks were hard to come by, I had a nice conversation with an elderly Japanese woman about what novels I should get. The three books I got were 湊かなえ’s 『高校入試』, 村上春樹’s 『一人称単数』, and 角田光代’s 『平凡』.
