N1 Difficulty

So I’m currently preparing to take N1 next year after passing N2 this year. I was wondering what people thought about the difficulty level of N1, particularly reading. Reading is probably one of my strongest skills although marks on practise papers have really varied. One thing I’ve noticed about N1 reading is that it can either be incredibly difficult or really easy. Like the long 4 question texts which are usually philosophical and subjective can be immensely hard to understand and grasp but the objective shorter questions like explanations, notices etc. can be almost like N3 level of difficulty. Wonder if anyone else has had the same experience?

Just want to mention about N1 listening that even though it’s by far my weakest skill the level of difficulty doesn’t actually seem too bad. I think reading is probably tougher.
