Seeking feedback for my first trip to Japan in May (14 days)

I made a rough itinerary below and was wondering if you had any tips or advice? Am I spending too much time in one place, is travel between areas not feasible? Any favourite food or activity suggestions? I have one day not accounted for – wanted to use it to either extend my stay in Kyoto, or to break up travel time somehow… Thank you for any and all help!

Day 1: Arrive in Tokyo, hotel near Asakusa

Day 2: Tokyo sightseeing (Asakusa district, Imperial Palace, Ikebukuri district, Akihabara district)

Day 3: Nikko day trip (Tokyo base)

Day 4: Lake Kawaguchiko day trip (Tokyo base)

Day 5: Travel to Kyoto and sightsee (Ginkaku-ji, Path of Philosophy, Nanzenji temple, Heian shrine, Nishiki market)

Day 6: Kyoto sightseeing (Fushima Inari-taisha, Kiyomizu-dera temple, Yasaka pagoda and Yasaka shrine, Gion corner, Gion district) + stay at hoshinoya (I heard it is difficult to get here… I have two days planned here, are these days the best looking at the activities planned?)

Day 7: Kyoto sightseeing (Arashiyama Bamboo grove, monkey park, teahouse ceremony, Kinkaku-ji) + stay at hoshinoya (see above note)

Day 8: Travel to Miyajima (Kyoto –> Himeji –> Hiroshima –> Miyajima); would travel to Himeji and see the castle and Koko-en garden, then wondering if I should stay in Hiroshima for the night or Miyajima)

Day 9: Sightsee Miyajima (Omotesando, Daisho-in temple, Itkushima shrine, Mount Misen) and then travel to Kanazawa

Day 10: Sightsee Kanazawa and visit Shirakawa-go (Kenrokuen garden, Nagamuchi samurai district, Myoryu-Ji temple, travel to and back from Shirakawa-go)

Day 11: Travel to Tokyo and sightsee in evening (Shinjuku district)

Day 12: Tokyo sightseeing (teamLab Planets, Meiji shrine, Takeshita street, Omote-sando)

Day 13: Go home in the evening (any morning or lunchtime suggestions?)
