  1. Went on a hike to Mitake on Saturday, and enjoyed it.

Any other suggestions for day hikes around Tokyo / Chiba?

  2. My sprained ankle is healing. I’m at last able to walk without crutches or pain unless I move my food weird, so I managed to do some much-needed cleaning. I’m not sure if I should be walking to the grocery store or into town or anything, though. It’s been two weeks since the injury, though, so maybe it’s okay for the healing process and for getting some of my strength and mobility back? Anyway, I’m excited to be able to walk around and enjoy 紅葉 soon!

  3. good god what a crazy semi-long weekend

Friday Halloween afternoon tea was so cute and actually delicious, we had unlimited refills on tea too but I just kept ordering their earl grey because I can’t remember if I’ve had such delicious earl grey in japan before.

Saturday was Disneysea! They don’t have as much in the way of Halloween decor as land, but it was way less crowded and my girlfriend and I still got to enjoy the atmosphere, shows, rides, and good Halloween food. If anyone’s going before Halloween ends, get the spicy kabocha chicken sandwich and sweet potato crepe

Sunday was supposed to be a day in buuuut….we ended up going out to ikebukuro to watch the eras tour movie in the sunshine dolby theater and it was so fun! Japanese swifties are very polite and good at making friendship bracelets. The girls I sat next to danced in their seats and lip synced, so fun but not disruptive (judging from what I’ve seen on american tiktok I need to be more appreciative of cinema etiquette here)

I’m dead tired today but it was all very worth it!

  4. I am obsessed with the new Okinawa black sugar chocolate covered almonds. They are so good! I alway pick up a couple every time I see them, since as we all know many things are seasonal or one time only. Thankfully they aren’t that popular in my neck of the woods. I’m sharing this because I doubt enough of you live near me to interfere with my supply. Anyway, go enjoy them at your local stores!

  5. Worked 2 nights and went to set up emergency anti-crow measures for our club’s peanut plants. Was hesitant about going because I was fresh off a night shift but I’m glad I went. Got to bond with some seniors and stuff.
