As the title suggests, is it legal to use Libgen in Japan. I know piracy is a big deal in Japan, so I was wondering this pertains to only Japanese websites or to the whole world.
For legal reasons, my friend has used libgen a solid couple of times in japan and never got into trouble.
Just use it lmao. I’ve been pirating almost anything I can get for free.
I know a person who lives in Japan for more than one year now and never had problems using libgen. May it be downloading at home or in the university wifi network. This person also uses other sites to watch movies and download software and never encountered a problem, yet.
I’m not sure it’s “legal” to use anywhere. Legality is one thing; whether you get in trouble for it is another thing entirely.
Thank you for all of your reply! Appreciate your help!
It’s more of a grey zone, but when I was at UTokyo, the on-campus wifi blocked both Libgen and Zlibrary (which was still operating back then). However, I used it in my dorm so not on campus.
I use it a lot, but only on my 4g or home wifi. Never get any problem.
downloading is chill; now uploading, especially japanese content, is not advisable
Is this the same guy who posted about copying books, etc., recently?
It’s technically illegal but consider your risk vs reward.
I use anna*s archive on the lab wifi SO FAR ALL GOOD
