Recently, 7 Bank ATMs stopped accepting my Bank Of America card. I think this is a little bit of a bum deal, because according to my friend, 7 Bank ATMs can allow your bank to convert the currency automatically if you select Yen instead of USD, so you get charged the smallest fee. I’ve been using JP Bank ATMs at Famima every since this happened. Is there any truth to any of this?

This has always been the default and only recently did 7/11 and maybe JP post added “charge in USD” option where they use a shitty exchange rate and add a fee on top.
Any ATM should allow withdrawing in JPY tho.
