I am a college student in Belgium, I am currently pursuing a degree in web design. I’m currently also searching for an internship opportunity for next year. I recently learned that I am permitted to explore internships outside of Belgium. This led me to consider the possibility of interning in Japan. Are Japanese companies open to hosting international interns? If so, how can I get in touch with them, and which companies should I consider reaching out to?

For Japanese companies an internship is a 1 day to 1 week long tour of the company for prospective new graduates that want to join the company. They don’t have the concept of a longer term internship.
There are international companies in Japan that do though. Although they are far and few between. In general I don’t think it’s very likely to get an internship in Japan (although I have done it).
