I’m looking for some feedback on first time trip!
Specially regarding time spent at each location and suggested day trips.
Maybe add one more day in Tokyo or Hakone and skip Osaka?
Here is the planning so far:
Day 1: Tokyo (Arrival)
Spend the day exploring Tokyo, visit Asakusa to see Senso-ji Temple and Nakamise Shopping Street. Explore the historic district of Asakusa.
Day 2: Tokyo
Visit Meiji Shrine and take a stroll in Yoyogi Park.
Explore Harajuku for trendy fashion and street food.
Spend the evening in Shibuya for the famous Shibuya Crossing and nightlife.
Day 3: Nikko Day Trip
Take a day trip to Nikko from Tokyo.
Explore Toshogu Shrine, Lake Chuzenji, and Kegon Falls.
Return to Tokyo in the evening.
Day 4: Hakone
Travel to Hakone
, visit the Hakone Open-Air Museum and Hakone Shrine.
Day 5: Kyoto
Travel to Kyoto.
Gion district.
Day 6: Kyoto
Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and Tenryu-ji Temple.
Explore Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) and Ryoan-ji Temple.
Day 7: Kyoto and Nara Day Trip
Fushimi Inari Shrine.
Trip to Nara
Explore Nara Park and Todai-ji Temple with its Giant Buddha.
Day 8: Osaka
Travel to Osaka
Explore Osaka, Osaka Castle and Dotonbori.
Day 9: Osaka to Tokyo
Morning in Osaka
Travel back to Tokyo, arrive at Shinjuku in the afternoon (by 1900h)

The Tokyo parts look good: unlike most, you’re not trying to squeeze too much in.
