Sanada Vs Evil (Ryogoku)

I gotta say, as much as I’ve been underwhelmed by Sanada’s reign this was a pretty exciting match. He pulled out moves that shows his athleticism; and idk if he needs to bounce off the ropes more lol or work on his personality a little more; but this match made me believe why he’s the IWGP champion. I was impressed. The G1 was somewhat of a let down for me personally. There were great matches but I expected a little more.

This match however, including the feud was exciting. I hope Sananda continues to explore himself. I believe he’ll grow in his role.

  1. This is a very interesting take, because I’d expect people to say they prefer SANADA’s defenses over Hiromu and Tsuji!

But this goes to show that there’s something about House of Torture that works. The heel tactics they perform make them getting their comeuppance satisfying, and in the process, it makes their opponents look good.

  2. I enjoyed the match but I didn’t see the match with Hirumo to judge but I thought evil v sanada was very good and we all had that 1% thinking evil might win

  3. I’ve been critical of HoT and Evil, but this match really worked for me. I was legitimately concerned Evil would pull out the win and I was excited when Sanada won. I’ve noticed myself slowly turning around on HoT, we’ll see if that keeps up.

  4. I think when HoT works it works. It just doesn’t far more than it does for me unfortunately. I wasn’t a huge fan of this match but I respect the take here. Glad you liked the match 🙂
