Good afternoon all!
My employer submitted my CoE application with Japanese immigration a month ago, so I think that now is a good time to get the VISA application form filled in, in preparation for when my CoE arrives.
There are some questions on the form that I’d just like a double opinion on, as getting appointments at the Embassy in London is difficult, and if the form I submit is wrong then I’ll have to go back to London (which costs about 100 GBP on the train for me!) So I want to make sure I fill out everything correctly.
Any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.
1. Current profession or occupation and position/ Name and address of employer – I literally handed my notice into my job this week, so I’m now unemployed. However, I have already signed the contract with my employer in Japan, so should I enter the details to these questions as unemployed (because I don’t have a job in the UK), or fill out these details with my new job in Japan?
2. Name and addresses of hotels or persons with whom applicant intends to stay – I may or may not have organised an apartment by the time I apply for my visa, but in the case that I haven’t currently organised a place to live at the time of submitting this visa application, what should I put here? Could I just enter the details of my employer? My boyfriend is Japanese and there’s a chance I’ll be staying at his place for the first week upon my arrival anyway, so is that an option?
3. Passport place of issue?? (I live in the UK)
4. Passport issuing authority?? (I live in the UK)
5. ID No. Issues to you by your government – is this just my passport number? There is a separate question on the VISA form for my passport number though, so entering the same number twice seems a little bit iffy?

Thanks in advance!
