Planning visit to Takashi Murakami’s Tonari no Zingaro and Kaikai Kiki Gallery in Tokyo – Need Some Advice

As part of our trip to Japan, we will be in Tokyo from October 29th to November 2nd and had some questions I hoped someone on this sub could help with. I’ve been looking into visiting Tonari no Zingaro and the Kaikai Kiki Gallery, both associated with the artist Takashi Murakami. However, I’ve found it a bit challenging to find reliable information online.

According to Tonari no Zingaro’s website (which is my main interest), it seems that their opening hours are somewhat irregular, often posted on the same day, but I may be confused. I was hoping they might have a store that was open every day with even a limited selection of merchandise.

Have any of you had the chance to visit these places? If so, I would greatly appreciate it if you could share your experiences or any advice you might have. I’ve tried searching the subreddit, but I didn’t find any relevant information. Sorry if this has been asked before and I missed it.

Thank you in advance!

  1. I visited Tonari no Zingaro store back in April. The store is not open every day, typically only weekends. Check their Instagram page, the October schedule is posted. I’d assume the store will only be open Oct 29th of your trip. But it looks like Kaikai Kiki Gallery will be open Tuesday – Thursday of your trip. 🌼

  2. Following in case someone can provide more helpful info as I’m interested in visiting these places in November, but if you’re just looking for Murakami items, the Mori Art Museum gift store has some of his merchandise (I visited it in February).
