Urgent question: Where can I find ankle braces in Tokyo – professional ones

Hi guys,

My wife just twisted bad her ankle today, and we are in a trip in Japan for 3 weeks.

We would like to buy a good ankle braces , more ortophedic style (with support on both sides of the leg).

Unfortunately we just found this elastic types and they don’t hold the ankle so good.

Do you recommend some specific shop in the area of Tokyo? Please let me know because so far we can’t find it…

  1. Go to a pharmacy and show them a picture of what you want. If the result isn’t the desired go for the second best, bandage.

  2. If you’re not having any luck with pharmacies, you can always order on Amazon Japan and have it sent to your hotel. Just sign up for an account— you can use foreign credit cards.

  3. If you’re staying in a hotel, perhaps the front desk staff could help?
Bic camera (they have a health/OTC drug section), drug stores like Matsumoto Kiyoshi, or even a dept. store like Hands or Aeon might have the type of brace/supporter that you’re looking for. Good luck & hope you’ll be able to find something.

  4. Go to a doctor/clinic. Even without insurance, it won’t be very expensive. Ask the concierge/hotel staff member to find a nearby one for you.
