HomeSushisometimes its not about the quality… its about the fact that i live in the future and can buy sushi from the grocery store as an american now 👍
Mariano’s has great sushi. They make it fresh everyday and at lunch time you can get it made to order and its fire.
My grocery store sushi counter is pretty darn good, esp. on Wednesdays when all rolls are 1/2 price! I can get a $10 roll for the same price I paid pre-covid lol.
Asian supermarket near me makes good sushi. Other supermarkets are passable for the price as well.
A couple stores around me have pretty good sushi. Authentic? I don’t think spicy crab rolls are authentic. That doesn’t mean they’re not good, though.
Sometimes it’s the small things 🙂 I am happy for you and your sushi!
That looks great for being from the grocery store
Do you guys have any tricks on how to deal with the hard rice that occurs when pre-made rolls sit in the fridge for hours?
Oh man back in 2003 I was loving the Citgo sushi counter near my high school.
Yeah sometimes we forget the privileges we have because all the work is abstracted away.
Picking up a sushi roll from my local HEB for lunch today actually! Ain’t the best in the world but it satisfies the craving!
Great rice to filling ratio!!
My mom was buying sushi on long Island in the late 1980s, back then was lucky to get one piece!
Shitty supermarket sushi when you just need a sushi fix can be so good.
My store makes only imitation crabs , rotten tuna, and fried shrimp, there must be a demand . But I’m more I to eel roll, salmon roll.l which they do have but don’t make.
Grocery store sushi is not bad at all tbh. You can usually find a “box of the month” or something that is a good deal too.
im not picky abt my sushi so this looks great to me
I eat my sushi the same way, with my fingers. Rolls and nigiri. Tuna salmon avocado combo is a winner.
What grocery store is that?
Publix does here. But the rice is extremely sugary and the fish is lacking if even present.
You guys finally got chip and pin and grocery store sushi?
Just a little bit behind the curve 😂
Sushi’s popularity in the U.S. actually started in the 80s but it was pretty expensive so it was mostly popular among yuppies. Nowadays it’s often inexpensive enough for most people to splurge on occasionally.
