Alcohol havers of Japan, what’s the cheapest way to get drunk?

Aeon’s home brand of strong zeros at 128 yen are my go to, along with a bottle of their 598 yen “whisky” which is probably anti-freeze.

Anyone found a cheaper way to get drunk here?

  1. I don’t want to sound offensive but alcohol is already extremely cheap here and if you have reasons to find even cheaper alcohol you should seek help.

  2. A 4L of supermarket brand whiskey should be the most cost effective.

I don’t trust those canned chu-hai, they taste “industrial” to me.

  3. I’m not sure if you’re a troll or someone in crisis. If the later, please reach out to Tell. 03-5774-0992.

  4. Cainz home center brand alcohol is the cheapest I’ve seen in Japan. 90 yen for 350ml of 9% chuhai. They also have cheap beer, whisky etc.

  5. I don’t really drink much these days but two bottles of Chilean red wine will come to just over 1000 yen from my local family mart and would do the job!

  6. Big ass bottle of whatever vodka and orange juice. A big bottle lasts me at least a few days (very light weight, i passout after 8 shots)

  7. Follow an African in Kabukicho, or Rappongi into a bar. You will be fucked up in no time.

  8. The <150 yen nihonshu in a single serve bottle in konbinis.
Efficient and gets the job done.

  9. My go-to is just 2 tall cans of strong zero, but sometimes they don’t have a flavor I like.

  10. While the 4L industrial-size whisky or kourui shochu is probably the absolute cheapest per LPA. Stick with honkaku shochu or awamori and your liver will thank you.

  11. My way to get drunk as a student here was not really cheap but in a way really was. I take one long island ice tea, which was like 600~800 at cheap place, drink it with a straw and was drunk until the last train. So one drink for the whole night.

Maybe strong zero has the same effect but I don’t know as it didn’t exist at the time.

  12. 600yen whiskey is the same stuff they serve in the bars. Suntory basic.

As for cheapest way? 3L bottles of shochu you mix with water and guzzle until you go to the hospital.

  13. Probably the 4L Black Nikka flagon.

If you can find a TopValu version it might be even cheaper.

Obligatory trigger warning, are you ok bro, and wave in the general direction of Dr. Bergé

  14. OP is a novice, not a Pro drinker.

A Pro goes out and doesn’t make a mess of himself. Stays in control and with all good respectful behavior. However, if a desire remains to “put the last nails in the coffin,” make sure you have some “nails” waiting for you at home.

Just imagine your social life like a car.

  15. The last alcohol that people end up with is shochu Daigoro. Apparently, people who have died from alcohol dependency usually have this large plastic bottle in their rooms.

  16. Getting someone else to pay for the drinks, is the only cheaper option I can think of.

The own brand stuff I have tried in my extensive research into the subject, might get the job done but I don’t like the next morning with a brain that has turned into a cannonball and mouth that feels like kitty litter.

  17. All the f****** nannies on here pushing OP to get help, call TELL, got to AL-ANON, etc.,… just… stop.

The economy sucks, and if it were any other consumable, you’d not be so damn preachy for someone asking about those to save money.

    Pretty presumptuous.

  18. Cheapest way? … That would be the 14% cooking Sake…. But if you value your health at all just buy Black Nikka
