What are my chances in getting into these Universities?

I went to Japan a few months ago, and I always want to go back to live there. I looked at most jobs listing in Japan, and most of them needed a bachelor’s degree (I have an Associates Degree), so I’m planning to go back to school. I had a thought about going to a Japanese University because I can get to live in Japan while getting a bachelor’s degree (a Win-Win in my book).

Right now, I’m looking into the English-based degrees due to fact that my Japanese is not as good as I want to be (I’m a N4 if curious), and here’s my List from Top being the one where I want to go the most with their majors / programs.

1. Waseda University – Computer Science and Communications Engineering
2. Sophia – Their Green Engineering Program
3. Kyoto University – their iup program with Computer Science Major (Their iup program said that they can teach you Japanese)

I did look into Temple University, but after reading a few horror stories on this reddit, I have a feeling that it may not be good idea to get into their school.

My credentials:

High School: 3.8 GPA (2019)

Tech School: 3.58 GPA (2021)

ACT: Composite score is 19/36 (Planning on taking it again in hopes to get a better chance of getting accepted)

I’m curious on what are my chances on getting accepted from those schools. If there’s other Japanese schools that has an English based program that I missed out on, let me know. I appreciate anyone who reads it and gives me an suggestion about it.

  2. > I have an associates degree

Did you check to see if your credits transfer? I am fairly sure they don’t, but you might want to verify, otherwise you’re starting all over again.
