Social Jobs

Soo i’m not really sure where to post my question but i think this might be the place.

For reference, i’m 22m, living in switzerland & heading solo to japan in may for my first 3 weeks trip. Now i’m in love with the japanese culture for about idk maybe since i was 16ish y/o.

I work in a orphanage type of children home. I studied (apprantaceship) as a childcare provider & am working in the field (including my apprenteceship) for about 5 years now.

So now to my question, does japan have such things as orphanages? Like i’m pretty sure they should but what are the Requirements for a job there or even the Job Opportunities?

Does anyone have an experience in that field?

Thanks im advance 🙂

  2. Japan has orphanages.

However, one thing Japan requires for you to get a work visa is that you are bringing something to the table which Japanese people don’t. Let’s be frank here: You did not grow up in the culture, you don’t speak the language. What exactly is Japan gaining from employing you to look after orphans?

Jobs that pay above minimum wage (which is what you need to qualify for a work visa) also require you to have Japanese qualifications, like 社会福祉士, 保育士, 小中高教員免許, 児童指導員任用資格, 精神保健福祉士 (this is just from a job listing I found).
