1. Geisha portraying legendary [Tomoe Gozen](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5I0b6oVWf5c), an onna-musha (woman warrior) from the late 12th Century. Tomoe served Minamoto no Yoshinaka in the Genpei War (1180-1185). She proved herself valiant taking a number of enemy heads. Her appearance at Kyoto’s Jidai Matsuri (Festival of the Ages) is considered a highlight of the parade.
