Do you guys have any recommendation for a meal that is not noodle (not ramen / not soba /not udon) and not touristy restaurant (like kichi kichi)? So far I only found saba sushi and yakiniku box at Mare.

Try looking for 創作料理? It would be called maybe “fusion” in English, but I think it’s something Kyoto does really well.
