I recently received this Omamori (in pic) from Asakusa Kannon Sensoji Temple. The instructions on the envelope say “Take out the amulet from the bag”. Query: I am confused whether the bag refers to the envelope in which it was packed or the paper cover with ribbon on it.

The envelope should be removed but it’s okay to leave it as it is.
