I recently learned the difference between 清潔 and 清潔感. If the websites I’m reading are true, the latter is an expectation of your potential suitor to have an American Psycho-level of skincare, hairlessness, and fitted attire perfection. Good hygiene, apparently, isn’t enough. Seems a bit extreme. Can’t possibly be normal, can it?
After getting a lot of responses to my crazy English club leader story, I have come to the conclusion that I don’t do well with online criticism lol. YouTuber is not a future career option for me I think 😂.
For anyone interested in more crazy stories about her, last year the hospital told me to bring a translator for the results of my CT scan so I brought her, since she’s retired and has time. She proceeded to talk to the doctor in English looooooool. Like excuse me I brought you here because they told me to bring a Japanese speaking person, but she likes to talk to young Japanese people in English. Anyway, she’s a character.
I thought I was too far along in my learning to naturally absorb the local dialect. But I have caught myself slipping into Kansai accent every now and then, especially when I’m talking with Kansai people. I’ll probably be too self conscious to ever use the vocabulary though.
Anyone know any place that sell good egg tarts in Kanagawa or Tokyo? I know Osaka has Lord Stowes but have yet to find any in Kanagawa/ Tokyo.
Edit: Been enjoying the egg tarts at KFC but I know these are only temporary. 🙁
