1. of note is Yoon Suk yeol who sent a personal letter to Akie Abe, Shinzo Abe’s wife, sending condolences calling the killing an act of “terrorism” during an election period, that attacked “the very foundation of democracy.” 

   Also of note is that both the Chinese embassy and Russian presidential spokesman sent sympathies. with the Chinese embassy [stating](https://www.reuters.com/world/chinese-embassy-japan-voices-condolences-death-ex-japanese-pm-abe-2022-07-08/) “Former Prime Minister Abe made contributions towards improving China-Japan relations during his term.”
