Best path for short term work? (Under 5 months)

Background info on me:I am currently working on a post bacc program to get into SLP grad school. My undergrad is in Elementary and Special Education. I have about 8 years of experience working with young children (Montessori, Reggio-based, Big Brother Big Sister, church, nannying).

After I apply to grad school, and hopefully get accepted, I would have about 4 months (April-early August) before the semester starts. I’d love to work in Japan during that time. I’ve dreamt of applying to the JET programme for a decade now, but I can’t commit to the year long contract. I am American, so a work holiday visa is not available to me, unfortunately.

What options do I have with my level of education and experience? Is there somewhere I could apply to be a short term, English speaking nanny perhaps? Westgate has popped up in my research, but it seems I’m not qualified for that.

Any advice would be appreciated.

  2. Working Holiday is probably the only type of Visa that could work if you’re under 30.

But even then, you aren’t meant to be focusing on work with that type of visa even if you can.
