I want to become an animator in Japan,

I am learning Japanese on Duolingo right now and it seems to be going well, but how much Japanese should I actually know if want to live/ work there?

  2. I’m not a big fan of using the JLPT to measure one’s actual Japanese ability but assuming one can speak/write as well as one could listen/read (because JLPT only measures passive ability), and it’s a non-bilingual company then…

    to live: N4~N3

    to work: at least N2.
