Hello guys. I’m planning on buying an RV and from the posts here, it seems GETCARSJAPAN is the best place if you don’t know a guy. Are they legit? The website seems so……messy. I registered but haven’t paid the 50k.
I know a guy but he’s charging 15-20% of the total auction price (bidding price plus all the auction percentages). Is that a fair amount?

agreed that website is a mess, but it seems like the registration is 5k, not 50k? Which seems reasonable considering I’m sure they got a tonne of people who think it’ll be a great idea to buy an RV (or car) from auction and go about kicking the online tires before disappearing.
Any reason you’re focused on an auction instead of a regular dealer or P2P used sale?

Work it out, and then ask yourself if it was you doing this work, would you be happy to be paid that amount, for all the costs of your time and efforts to buy and transfer the car to the customer, plus overheads of running your business etc… 🤷♂️
I’m kinda old fashioned and hate buying auction vehicles without being to actually view them. One of the best parts of auctions is walking around the huge lot they have of all the old Japanese cars you would love to buy but the wife says no more projects.
