I’m looking at the Gracie “bullyproof” program in Osaka. I know there are various reviews of these things internationally but I’m specifically looking for people’s experiences here in Japan.
I’m sorry, I can’t help you with Japan specific experience but I trained BJJ, including helping teach kids classes and kids love it. I trained Karate and Kickboxing in Japan and there were kids in those classes too (mainly the Karate class) and I would say that BJJ is more fun and safer for kids as there is lower risk of head trauma.
BJJ yes, but those Gracie programs are a massive cash grab
Carpe Diem has pretty good kids programs in Tokyo starting from age 5 I believe. And most classes are bilingual. Wouldn’t hurt taking your kids to a trial class.
I have a great english BJJ teacher, however we are situated near Yokohama, so I can’t help you for Osaka..
Tri-Force Osaka should have kids and parent+kids classes.
