Made or bought? Spicy mixed fish is a little trick to hide any potential strong fishy flavors from older fish. Up there with cream cheese on the menu in terms of red flags for me but way more common at your average local sushi joint, unfortunately. Avoid the “spicy tuna” or “spicy salmon” rolls.
