It’s a light beer. Light beers are gross. Mystery solved.
Honestly, it’s a race to the bottom between these ‘diet’ beers and the *happoshu* garbage. I’m firmly in the ‘drink less, drink better’ camp, and probably better for it in numerous ways.
I drink it all, but this stuff…jarringly bad.
Haven’t tried it, but I can recommend the new Kirin beer. やわから仕立て 一番搾り、the one in the light blue can.
My favorite domestic macrolagers are Kirin Heartland (non-skunked) and Yebisu. Kirin Ichiban Shibori and TopValu Premium aren’t bad, either. I’ll only buy 100% malt beers (no rice, corn, etc.), but that doesn’t happen much, because I’ve got 3-4 kegs of homebrew on tap at any given time.
Anyone tried the Asahi super dry crystal? 3.5% alcohol.
Apparently it’s not Happoshu and of course not nonalcoholic beer
