Moving from Osaka to Tokyo

Got used to living life in the minami area of Osaka for a 5 years. Haven’t been to Tokyo except for when I first came to japan. But I want to start a new chapter in my life.

What should I expect when it comes to the living culture in Tokyo. Specifically the bar scenes, as well as the people.
Is there anything I should know before moving?

  1. Language is slightly different. They speak Osaka dialect in Osaka while standard Japanese in Tokyo.

When you get on an escalator in Osaka, people stand on the right side and walk on the left side. It’s the opposite in Tokyo.

  2. There is no bar scene, just groups of people that go out together and don’t mingle with other groups

  3. You’ll be poorer and the trains are more crowded I suppose.

Bar scene? Well, there’s a lot more hipster 30+ year olds

  4. Tokyo is friendly thats just BS, you just have to get to know your local hangouts. Azabupongi… is not your local hangout, neither is HUB.
