I’m planning to purchase the new iPhone 15 ProMax in Tokyo, Japan, but I’ve run into a bit of a roadblock. I visited the Apple Store in Kawasaki, and they informed me that the purchase of this new phone will be online-only. Unfortunately, my online purchase keeps getting rejected because I only have an overseas credit card.
I’m really eager to get my hands on this phone, and I was hoping to buy it in-store. Can anyone recommend a different Apple Store in Tokyo or any other authorized retailer in the area that sells physical products in-store, where I can potentially make the purchase with my overseas credit card? I’d greatly appreciate any advice or recommendations from those familiar with the Tokyo area.

Is your card over the limit or something, or did you mistype billing address? I had no problems purchasing something quite recently (or in the past) online from apple store with a foreign CC. Check with your bank/card issuer too, if stuff is getting rejected by apple or by them etc.
I have had no problem ordering things online from the Apple Store using my foreign CC so I would double check the order information. You can try places like Yodobashi Camera or Bic Camera. Any of the large electronic stores will be selling the phones so maybe you would have better luck there?
I believe the iPhone 15 pro max is still back ordered so that is probably why they’re not selling it in store. I had to wait three weeks for mine to be delivered.
You could try second hand shops, sometimes people trade them in after buying them. I was able to get my last phone a few weeks after release that way.
There’s also merukari also, if you don’t mind paying over retail to get it fast.
They have official Apple Store in Kawasaki?
Go to the Bic Camera(I think) store behind the apple store in Kawasaki and see if they have stock there.
We’re having the same problems OP. I tried ordering online for pickup but apple online store says my order is for delivery only. Sucks. Let me know if you find a place that sells it, I’m gonna be in Tokyo on the 29th.
Wow, that’s great! I worked for Apple a long time ago in the US and there were only a few stores in Japan at the time.
