2. getting kicked in the nuts again and again

   the first kick hurts

   the second kick hurts

   but after 10,000 kicks in the nuts

   they have been smashed into a pulp

   you realize

   I have no nuts

   and then you remember the word it would have been good to have known after that last painful kick

   and it was

   痛み止め

7. Yeah, it’s one thing I try to remind myself when I feel like I’m back to square one in a new book. There is the general core vocabulary and grammar and style, and then there are so many various smaller cores of vocabulary you still need to acquire to be functional in any given topic.

   It’s a long game y’all, take your time
