Hi, i just subscribed to Softbank Hikari recently. they provided me with a 10G-ONU and the hikari BB unit. I’ve realised that this unit is really unreliable (connection dropping frequently). I was woderig if i could use aother router that I have to remedy this situation. I’ve read elsewhere that it is possible to use another router to replace this BB unit if it was given the correct PPPoE settings. However, if I connect it to the BB unit there is no internet connection at all. Even if i try to replace the BB unit with the router which was given the correct credentials it will still be unable to work. The only internet connection that works currently is the pc connection directly to the BB unit to the ONU. Any advice on how to use the other router I have to replace the current BB unit?

what part about bbunit is unreliable?
you can’t use softbank 10g line without it, if you want to use your own router as wifi access point you can, but that’s about it.
